All In a day’s workflow
Your Garland team is ready to help with any part of your OTT-project workflow. Our work with Vualto shows the success of this kind of partnership.
Finding someone with highly developed, long-term competence in any area can be difficult. So, having it across all areas needed for a project’s workflow can seem downright impossible, particularly when the project has a lot of technical “moving parts.” Garland has worked with many organisation’s technical teams when they need added high-level skill and knowledge. Our work with specialist video technology provider Vualto shows how a partnership of complementary experts can make all the difference for success.
Headquartered in Plymouth, Vualto works on large-scale projects for major UK and European broadcasters and content owners. Established in 2012 by a team of experienced online video specialists, Vualto’s team provides integrated video solutions that encompass digital rights management (DRM), broadcast workflows, players and apps. They help their customers each a global audience across the multiple device types viewers are using today.
Garland and Vualto have worked together on a range of OTT projects that allow viewers to watch important events live on their laptops or mobile devices, including government sessions and university graduations. Our expertise is sought by those in industries where high-quality video streaming and content rights protection are vital to remain competitive, including those in e-game development.
Our two companies provide different parts of the project workflow. Garland provides the video downlink from DVB to IP into high-quality, industry-proven live and VOD transcoding platforms. Vualto then provides the software and services required to deliver live, VOD and Live2VOD with DRM. Their range of players and apps allow the content to be consumed across multiple devices, including iOS, Android, AppleTV, and Chromecast.
“We worked together to provide an online playout solution that lets deployed armed forces personnel and their families view online content around the world,” say Lorna Garrett, Commercial Director of Garland, describing just one of many projects the two companies have collaborated on. “The player brings live UK TV channels, such as BBC One, BBC Two, ITV and premium channels, plus a host of radio platforms, to forces personnel via the web and mobile.”
“By bringing Garland on as part of our team of experts, we’ve been able to greatly enhance the breadth of the services we can offer our customers,” says Camilla Young, CEO of Vualto. “We have an extremely loyal and talented team and we like to push the technical boundaries. Our partnerships help us do that.”
The Vualto and Garland teams will be at IBC2016 in Amsterdam from 9–13 September. Contact us to arrange a meeting to discover how our partnership can work for you.
