Video Forum 2007 - Earls Court, London
February 2007
Video Forum 2007 at Earls Court, London enjoyed a record number of visitors to the show from the 6th-8th February.
Garland Partners Limited, who were exhibiting for the first time, were very pleased by both the number of visitors to their stand and the variety of potential applications raised by the visitors. The key theme was 'Streaming to the Net' and many visitors were interested in solutions for live streaming over the internet, or private networks for delivery to either the PC or the TV.
GPL were demonstrating the Viewcast range of Windows Media streaming encoders from the PowerStream and Niagara MAX ranges at a variety of bitrates from 50kbps up to 2Mbps showing the output on either mediaplayer on the PC or through Amino set top boxes. Main applications discussed were distance learning (live interactive lectures on all subjects from medical to geophysics), live streaming of Church services, TV channels to the PC amongst others. There was a real buzz for getting video content over broadband to websites using low bitrate. One of the best ways to do this is using professional WM encoders from Viewcast.
