Skandia Cowes Week broadcast on own dedicated event channel

Providing the results and information services for Skandia Cowes Week, the largest, longest-running, and most prestigious international sailing regatta, is a complex assignment, performed since 1992 by IT and media services company Next Generation Results (NGR). During the eight-day event, 1,000 boats race in up to 40 different classes in one of the busiest commercial s
tretches of water in the world. This year, using streaming technology from Garland Partners Limited (GPL), live video footage of the action, together with results, news and information, was broadcast to the 8,500 competitors and 100,000 visitors at the annual regatta, which is held every August at Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK.

MTV Europe Awards Seen Live by Millions Worldwide via Television, Web and Mobile Devices

More than 30 million fans from around the world are thought to have watched this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, many seeing the event as it was streamed live on the Web courtesy of Niagara® Pro encoders from ViewCast supplied by Garland Partners Ltd (GPL) of the UK. While 10,000 fans screamed and danced their way through the ceremony held at the new, state-of-the-art Echo Arena in Liverpool on November 6th, fans in more than 40 European countries, China, India, and points beyond were able to watch the fifteenth annual awards show on Web sites, mobile devices and MTV channels.

Niagara Pro Streams Sports & News For BBC
