Cisco and LiveU honoured as best in their categories
GPL Partners Pick Up Awards from Streaming Media Readers

Garland Partners is pleased to announce that two of its partners—LiveU and Cisco—are Readers’ Choice winners in this year’s Streaming Media events held in London and Los Angeles.
LiveU—the pioneer of portable video-over-cellular solutions—has taken the top spot at the Streaming Media Europe 2011 event, winning in the Best Mobile Video App or Solution category with its LU30 and LU60. These mobile uplink solutions have been used by Garland Partners’ clients for everything from broadcasting sporting events and student protest marchers, to the royal wedding and this summer’s riots across the UK.
At Streaming Media West in Los Angeles, global network leader Cisco received Readers’ Choice awards in both Hardware Encoder categories (SD and HD) for its AS8100 Series Media Processor. The AS8100 is a flexible, multi-format, scalable solution, supporting resolutions from mobile to web to HD. Unlike other encoders on the market, Cisco Media Processors support multiple formats in one unit, and are optimised to deliver adaptive streams, allowing users the best quality experience, whatever their bandwidth. This past summer, Garland Partners supplied an AS8100 HD live streaming encoder to an English Premier League team so the team could stream H264 to its new player on its online TV site.
