Summary
Designed to provide system integrators with a premium solution for interactive IPTV, the AmiNET130H is the first hospitality single chip set-top box that supports High Definition TV output and low bit rate codecs.
High Definition Output
With a dedicated HDMI port that supports video resolutions up to 720p & 1080i and graphical resolutions up to 720 x 1280, and analogue AV connectors, the STB provides the complete
solution for today and tomorrows hospitality needs. HD will enable increased revenues through a higher level of service & through additional chargeable services such as Internet on TV
Advanced Codec Support
The incorporation of low bit rate codecs such as H.264 allows the use of HD content without the associated bandwidth issues. The reduction in bandwidth allows for lower infrastructure costs, thus reducing the total cost of ownership.
Guest Internet Connection
Guest Internet usage can be an integral part of the service and a key revenue source. With the AmiNET130H, it is not necessary to route multiple physical networks to each guest room. The AmiNET130H provides a dedicated, fast Ethernet connection for guest use. The connection has built-in quality of service (QoS) control allowing guest and video traffic to share a single IP network with complete security and withoutcompromising video transmission quality.
TV Interface (TVI)
Where specific hospitality TVs are used the STB can communicate and control the TV set. This provides several benefits, such as:

Currently Philips Smartport, LG/Zenith MPI and Panasonic/Sony MATE protocols are supported. (Check with an Amino sales representative for details on future protocols).
Robust Design
The AmiNET130H is designed to be both discreet and robust. The slim line black case can be mounted out of sight or under a desk and is intended to discourage unauthorised removal.
IR Extender
For prestigious environments, where a minimum visibility installation or control of AV equipment is required, the AmiNET130H can be installed out-of-sight behind a cabinet or partition. To allow control of the STB an IR Extender (sold separately) replicates the IR input and blasting facility on the front of the STB, with a range of 6 metres (minimum using an Amino remote). The IR Extender is mounted close to the guestroom TV using the adhesive pads supplied. Its 2.5 metre cable
plugs into the STB connector, allowing power to be supplied by the AmiNET130H.
Application Development
Amino software technology is based on open standards such as Linux and HTML. Application developers for the AmiNET130H benefit from the Amino JMACX system which enables full control of the STB functions from the browser.
JMACX provides the service operator with a powerful set of HTML and JavaScript extensions which allow simple and highly effective user interface designs to be created or ported. For increased flexibility in creating custom applications ADKs and SDKs are also available.
Supported Browsers
The AmiNET130H will support Ant and Opera browsers.
Content Protection
The AmiNET130H is compatible with a range of leading smartcard-based and smartcard-less content protection and rights management solutions.
Installation
Installation requires:
• One power socket for the external, in-line power supply
• One Ethernet connection to a central video server
• Optional remote IR Extender
Multicast Loader
The Amino multicast server software ensures that any DHCPconfigured Amino set-top (such as the AmiNET130H) connecting to the network, may be rapidly and securely loaded with the latest signed software image authorised by the service provider. The multicast loader is installed on a Linux PC at the head-end, and transmits the software image in a continuous carousel, ensuring rapid start-up regardless of the number of set-tops in the system. It is therefore completely scalable.
