AmiNET110H

The AmiNET110H offers the functionality of the AmiNET110 in a robust, bolt-down chassis ideal for enterprise, education and hospitality use.

Summary

The AmiNET110H is designed to be both discreet and robust. The slim-line, black case can be mounted under a desk or counter top, and is designed to discourage unauthorised removal.

For prestige environments, where a completely non-visible installation is required, the AmiNET110H has a connection for a compact remote IR sensor. This is mounted close to the guest-room TV, allowing the AmiNET110H to be installed completely out-of-sight behind a cabinet or partition.

The AmiNET110H is compatible with the SmartPort and MPI interfaces found on leading brands of hospitality TVs.

Applications

Video on demand (VoD) services provide hoteliers with a significant opportunity to increase revenue. The AmiNET110H
is a cost-effective, Set-Top Box (STB) designed specifically for use in hotel and motel guest rooms.
It is also suitable for enterprise applications where a discreet, robust TV decoder is required.

Guest Internet Connection

Guest Internet usage can be an integral part of the service. With the AmiNET110H, it is not necessary to route multiple physical networks to each guest room. The AmiNET110H provides a dedicated, fast Ethernet connection for guest use.
The connection has built-in quality of service (QoS) control, allowing guest and video traffic to share a single IP network with complete security and without compromising video transmission quality.

TV Interface (TVI)

For prestigious developments where specific hospitality TVs are used, for example Philips Smartport, the AmiNET110H can be factory fitted with TVI. This enables the STB to directly
control compatible TVs. The addition of TVI brings the following benefits:

No visible hardware (when using the TV remote control)
TV control through STB, browser and network

Dolby Multi-Channel Audio

In addition to stereo audio outputs, the AmiNET110H includes a Dolby 5.1 surround sound output for prestigious installations.

IR Extender

For prestigious environments, where a minimum visibility installation is required, the AmiNET110H can be installed outof- sight behind a cabinet or partition. To allow control of the STB an IR Extender (sold separately) replicates the IR input and blasting facility on the front of the STB, with a range of 6 metres (minimum using an Amino remote). The IR Extender is mounted close to the guest-room TV using the adhesive pads supplied. Its 2.5 metre cable plugs into the STB connector,
allowing power to be supplied by the AmiNET110H.

Application Development

Amino software technology is based on open standards such as Linux and HTML. Application developers for the AmiNET110H benefit from the Amino JMACX system which enables full control of the STB functions from the browser. JMACX provides the service operator with a powerful set of
HTML and JavaScript extensions which allow simple and highly effective user interface designs to be created or ported.
For increased flexibility in creating custom applications ADKs and SDKs are also available.

TV Compatibility

The Amino supplied remote control is compatible with a wide range of TVs and the TVI is compatible with most hospitality TVs (please check TV models with an Amino sales representative).

Browser Options

The AmiNET110H can be supplied with either ANT or the Opera browser.

Installation

Installation requires:
• One power socket for the external, in-line power supply
• One Ethernet connection to a central video server
• RF video feed for terrestrial broadcast channels (optional)
• Optional remote IR Extender

Multicast Loader

The Amino multicast server software ensures that any DHCPconfigured Amino STB (such as the AmiNET110H) connecting to the network, or powered up, can be rapidly and securely loaded with the latest signed software image authorised by the service provider. The multicast loader is installed on a Linux PC at the head-end, and transmits the software image in a continuous carousel, ensuring rapid start-up regardless of the number of STBs in the system. Available under a separate license agreement.
